Yoshimura Suzuki set for wild-card entry in 2010 WSB
WorldSBK.com is now able to confirm that Yoshimura Japan, the company that runs Suzuki's factory participation in Japan's MFJ National Superbike championship, is set to run in a few rounds of next year's Superbike World Championship as a wild-card entry. The team first made enquiries about participating in WSB at the final round of this year's championship at Portimao, where representatives were present.

In a statement the company president Fujio Yoshimura declared that the team would be pulling out of the domestic series to concentrate on running three or four WSB rounds in Europe, plus the Suzuka 300 and the Suzuka 8 Hours race in Japan, which it won this year (photo, Daisaku Sakai)

Although part of the same company, Yoshimura Japan's US arm Yoshimura R&D, which runs Suzuki's official AMA Superbike program and which has won countless AMA Superbike titles over the years with Mat Mladin and Ben Spies, is not involved in this operation.

The rider and the rounds for these wild-card entries will be considered and fixed early next year.
